King Cobra
We are snake rescuers, not snake charmers. In our line of work, things often take unexpected turns. Let us share one such story with you.
Prashant Kumar received a call from a security guard in Chanakyapuri about a snake sighting.
When he arrived, he found the snake perched high on a tree. During the rescue process, PK—our beloved Prashant Kumar—discovered that the snake was a King Cobra.
The King Cobra is a species native to Uttarakhand. It was hard to believe that such a dangerous creature was found in the heart of Delhi. Both PK and the snake were horrified. And when a snake is terrified, it becomes even more dangerous than usual.
The snake was one of the most venomous species in the world, which made matters worse. The situation required extra caution. The snake, already frightened, began climbing higher into the tree, making the rescue even more challenging. A single mistake could have been fatal for anyone involved.
A special thanks to the Delhi Fire Brigade for their invaluable support, providing a crane to assist in the rescue. With their help and a lot of careful planning, our hero, PK, successfully rescued the venomous King Cobra.
Once safely secured, the next step was to return the snake to its natural habitat. Since Delhi is not a natural environment for the King Cobra, we decided to release it into the Rajaji National Park in Haridwar, a much safer and more suitable home for such a majestic creature.
